Bio

"You'd best be ready when Mark & Elle Mae tear into a tough rendition of Willie Dixon's "I'm Ready" smokin' hot, straight out of the gate!...This twosome really swings on the up-tempo numbers (like Fujiyama Mama), serving the listener an unignorable invitation to the open dance floor.”
—Del Villarreal, Ol’ Skool Rodz

"...one song, she's a sultry temptress with a smooth-as-butter-voice and the next, a raw rock 'n'roll queen who'll tear you apart if you look at her funny."
--Joseph Klement, Motor City Blog

In June of 2008, two restless misfits started to make some noise in Detroit, Michigan.
The velvety croon of Elle Mae, and the twangy guitar of Mark Longsdorf
created a spark that quickly shot them to the forefront of the Motor City’s music scene.

Heavily influenced by traditional rockabilly, Texas swing, and 60’s rock ’n’ roll, they have captivated audiences from Detroit to Los Angeles, Europe and back, cutting their teeth on some of the most esteemed venues, festivals and dives in Detroit and around the globe, warming up for artists like The Trashmen, Dex Romweber, Dale Watson and Whitey Morgan & The 78’s.

They introduced their debut raw-cut EP “The Ghetto Session” in 2011 at the Metro Times Blowout, and quickly became Detroit's best kept secret. They went on to introduce their 7”-vinyl single, at the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender, in April 2012, followed by their debut European romp in Belgium and The Netherlands later the next year.

In spring of 2013, Mark and Elle were presented with an opportunity to live life in the “Live Music Capital of the World”—Austin, Texas. So they packed it up and moved things out West, where they've performed with some of Austin's finest rhythmn musicians. Their latest EP, Right Behind You Baby, caught the ear of Austin icon, Dale Watson leading to his invitation to perform with him at the legendary Luckenbach, Texas for the first-ever Ameripolitan showcase in November 2013.

They have been featured on several national and international internet radio programs, blogs and publications, and are currently working on new music and shows for all lovers of roots rock 'n' roll. Catch them if you can.
