Formed in late January of 2011 by Grant Carfer, Fierce Deity was formed to create a soundtrack for a friends horror movie. While working with his friend on the film and the soundtrack they went under the band name "Advent Horizon". The movie suffered development hell and was canceled. The few songs Grant had written would be the foundation of "Fierce Deity".
